Ali Shatranji , real name Aladdin (Ali) Tabrizi , later received the name Ali Shatranji Samarkandi - a medieval master of the game of shatrange . Born in the second half of the 14th century in Tabriz , in the Timurid Empire , died in the 15th century in Samarkand , in the capital of this state. Known for his game of shatrange at the court of Amir Timur (Tamerlane) in Samarkand - the founder and ruler of the Timurid Empire. He was invited to Samarkand due to his skill.
