Until the end of the 2007/08 season, the team was officially called Spartak (Subotica), but then it was merged with Zlatibor Voda, which won the ticket to the First League. Thus the name "Spartak-Zlatibor Water" was approved. In June 2013, the prefix β€œZlatibor Voda” was removed, and the historical name β€œSpartak” was restored [1] .

History

Former club emblem

Spartak is the most successful club in northern Vojvodina . The footballers participated in the first post-war SFRY championship , and since then they have never dropped below the second division. The main achievement of Spartacus is considered to reach the final of the Yugoslavia Cup of the 1993/94 season, in which they largely lost to Partizan (1: 6).

After the dissolution of the club "Jacques", which existed before the Second World War, some of its players, not wanting to join the newly created "Gradzhanski" and "Radnichki", founded "Spartacus." Many footballers from Subotica subsequently managed to pursue a career in strong clubs in Yugoslavia and abroad. Among them are representatives of the national team of the country.
