Biography
Born in Kamenetz-Podolsk, spent his childhood in Lodz . He studied at the Krakow Academy of Arts and Odessa . In 1910 he left for France , lived in Paris . In 1922 he participated in the 1st International Art Exhibition in Dusseldorf . Exhibited in the Autumn Salon and Tuileries.
In 1943, during the German occupation of France, he was captured with his family in Marseille and interned in Compiegne , and then transported to the transit camp of Drancy . He died in Auschwitz or in Sobibor in 1943 .
The author of still lifes , portraits. He devoted part of his paintings to biblical images and scenes from Jewish life.
Weinbaum’s works were exhibited at the exhibition “Marc Chagall and Others”, which opened on March 30, 2007 in Kharkov at the AVEC Gallery [1] .
