Boris Andrei Guzyak ( Ukrainian Boris Andriy Kuzyak ; November 24, 1960 , Syracuse , USA ) - Greek Catholic priest, president of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UKU, Lviv ), the first bishop of the diocese of St. Vladimir the Great in Paris since January 19, 2013 .

Biography
Parents - come from the Lviv region . In childhood, he was a member of the scout organization " Plast " [1] . He graduated from the University of Syracuse, studied at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome , Papal Oriental Institute [2] [3] . In 1992, at Harvard University ( USA ), he received a Ph.D. in Slavic and Byzantine cultural and church history [3] . In 1993, he came to Ukraine and organized the Institute of Church History, worked on the restoration of the Lviv Theological Academy and the creation of the UCU [3] . In 1995–2000 - Vice-Rector of UKU, since 2000 - Rector [2] .
On August 14, 1998, he was ordained deacon , and on November 26 of the same year as priest [3] .
A leading UCU researcher in the field of church history, organized many international scientific conferences, in particular, “Berestey readings” (1994-1996) [2] . The author of over thirty printed works. His main work is “The Kiev Metropolia, the Constantinople Patriarchate and the Genesis of the Union of Brest” [2] . He is the author of the study “Crisis and Reforms”, published in English (1998) and Ukrainian (2000) languages [3] .
On July 21, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Father Boris Hudziak the titular bishop of Karkabia and the Apostolic Exarch of the UGCC in France . On August 26, 2012, he was ordained a bishop [4] .
On January 19, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI elevated the apostolic exarchate of France to the rank of diocese called the Diocese of St. Vladimir the Great in Paris, and Boris Guzyak became its first bishop [5] .
