CryptoPro is a line of cryptographic utilities (auxiliary programs) developed by the company of the same name - the so-called cryptographic providers . They are used in many programs of Russian developers to generate electronic signatures (ES), work with certificates, organize PKI structure, etc.

In 2014, CryptoPro CSP 3.6 R4 was released with full support for the final versions of Microsoft Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 operating systems [1] .
In 2016, the CryptoPro CSP version 3.9 R2 and 4.0 R2 was released with full support for Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 [2]
CryptoPro CSPs are used in tax reporting programs, in client banks (for example, in Sberbank client banks [3] [4] ) and a universal electronic card [5] .

CryptoPro CSP has passed the certification of the FSB (formerly FAPSI ). [6]
The cryptographic protection tool CryptoPro CSP was developed according to the terms of reference agreed with the FAPSI in accordance with the Microsoft cryptographic interface - Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP). CryptoPro CSP has FAPSI certificates of conformity and can be used to generate encryption keys and electronic digital signature keys, encrypt and simulate data, ensure the integrity and authenticity of information that does not contain state secret information. CryptoPro support for various platforms
CryptoPro CSP currently supports all popular platforms: AIX , Android , iOS , FreeBSD , Linux , Mac OS , Solaris , Windows . [9] . On Linux, Mac OS, and Windows, CryptoPro CSP 5.0 introduced the cptools graphical application for managing keys and certificates, signing and configuring. [10] For older versions, on the official website of CryptoPro and other Internet sources, you can find many instructions for setting up CryptoPro in terminal mode, including for such a popular platform among Linux as Ubuntu. It should be noted that not all state portals support authorization through an electronic signature from the Linux platform, but this list is quite large and is actively expanding.
