It is the administrative center of the Prudyansk village council, which, in addition, includes the villages of Tsupovka and Shapovalovka .

Geographical position

The urban-type settlement Prudyanka is located on the left bank of the Lopan River [2] , the village of Tsupovka is located upstream at a distance of 2 km, the settlement Slatino is downstream, and the village Shapovalovka is on the opposite bank.

An unnamed river flows through the village. Nearby is the Prudyansk reservoir .

History

  • 1801 - Date of foundation as the village of Prudy.
  • 1830 - renamed the village of Novosergeevka.

In 1938 - the status was renamed and changed to the town of Prudyanka .

During the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1943, the village was under German occupation .

In the 1970s, the basis of the village’s economy was the separation of the cattle feeding farm [2] .

In January 1989, the population was2232 people [3] , according to the 2001 census - 2001 people , as of January 1, 2013 - 1852 people [4] .

Transport

On the outskirts of the village is the railway station Prudyanka (line Kharkov - Belgorod) [2] .

Attractions

  • Mass grave of Soviet soldiers. 123 soldiers were buried.
