History

Vrubel Street, 7. House of Rolan Bykov

The street appeared in the 1920s during the construction of the Sokol village. According to the initial construction plan, Vrubel Street was to become the central street of the village. The street is designed so that it ends at the Serebryany Bor station of the ring railway . However, the plan was not fully implemented and the street was on the border of the village. In the 1980s, actor and director Rolan Bykov settled in house 7 on Vrubel Street.

Name Origin

According to the original design, the street was called Central [1] . But on April 4, 1928, the streets of the Sokol village were renamed at the suggestion of Professor VKhUTEMAS Pavel Pavlinov [2] . The street was named after the outstanding Russian artist Mikhail Alexandrovich Vrubel ( 1856 - 1910 ) [3] .
