Biography

Jose Enrique began his football career at the Levante club, in 2005 he moved to Valencia . In “Valencia” he spent only a month, because soon after the transition he was sent on loan to “ Celta ”, for which he played his first 14 matches in the Spanish Example . After the lease expired, Jose Enrique was acquired by Villarreal . For physical strength and perseverance, José Enrique received the nickname "Bull."

On August 6, 2007, the English club Newcastle United acquired Jose Enrique for £ 6.3 million, winning the fight for the player with Manchester City and Sunderland , and signed a five-year contract with him [3] . José Enrique made his debut in the English Premier League on September 23 of the same year, substituting for the match with West Ham United .

In the 2007/08 season, José Enrique occasionally appeared in the Newcastle main squad, as the club's coach, Sam Allardyce , trusted more experienced players, in particular, using Charles N'Zogbia as a midfielder. In the next season, Jose Enrique more often left in the first team, however, the general setbacks of Newcastle, which fought for the right to remain in the Premier League, and the subsequent change of coaches did not allow him to show his worth. At the end of the season, Newcastle United flew out of the Premier League, and many leading players left the team. The Madrid Atletico was interested in acquiring Jose Enrique, but there was no real offer [4] . Although initially he was interested in moving to Atlético, the Spaniard later said that he would leave Forty only if he was invited by Barcelona [5] . As a result, Jose Enrique remained at Newcastle. In the 2009/10 season, he became the winner of the Newcastle Championship and entered the Team of the Year of this tournament.

Enrique spent the 2010/11 season in the Premier League, where Newcastle again received the right to speak. In the summer of 2011, José sharply criticized the club’s leadership, which allowed the “forty” to leave a number of key players, including young striker Andy Carroll and team captain Kevin Nolan [6] . For this, he was suspended from training for two weeks.

Throughout the spring and early months of summer 2011, there were rumors that Jose Enrique would move to Liverpool in the summer [7] [8] [9] . In mid-April, the ex-captain of Liverpool Phil Thompson even said that an agreement on the transfer of the player already exists [10] . However, only at the beginning of August it became clear that the probability of this transfer is really high [11] , and on August 11, 2011, Jose Enrique moved to Liverpool [12] .

On April 1, 2012, in a match against Newcastle, after the removal of Pepe Reina , Jose Enrique stood on goal for almost 10 minutes, leaving them dry [13] . November 17, 2012 in a match against Wigan (3-0) scored his first goal for Liverpool.

Jose Enrique ended his career at the age of 31 [14] .
