DIC Entertainment (pronounced “Dick”, also known as The Incredible World of DiC , DiC. Audiovisuel , DiC Enterprises , DIC Animation City and DIC Productions ) is an international American cinema and television company founded in 1971 by Jean Chalopin in Luxembourg [1] as a subsidiary of RTL Group . The name of the company was originally an acronym for “diffusion of information and communication” ( Diffusion, Information et Communication ). In addition to TV shows such as True Ghostbusters (1986-1991), Super Power Team (1995) and the first two seasons of Sailor Moon (1995-1998), DIC also produced its own films. In 2008, the studio was acquired by Cookie Jar and then merged [2] with Cookie Jar Entertainment .
