The first elections for Latvia to the European Parliament were held on June 12, 2004. In the elections for 9 seats, 16 lists competed with a 5% barrier and the Saint-Lagues method for distributing seats. Turnout: 577,881 citizens, or 41.34% of voters. The first place TB / DNNL association was the first in most cities and districts of Latvia. In 2 cities of republican subordination - Rezekne and Daugavpils - and in three districts won ZaPcHeL, in one district of the CPF.
