History

It was founded in France in mid-1902 by Georges Claude and Paul Delorm, after developing a process for separating components of liquefied air. In 1906, international expansion began; branches were opened in Belgium, Italy, Canada, Japan, and Hong Kong. In 1943, with the participation of Air Liquide (Boulogne-Billancourt), prototype scuba gears equipped with regulators were created.

In 1995, Air Liquide Health was established to supply medical gases.

The group acquired the following companies: SEPPIC (1986, France), Schuelke and Mayr (1996, Germany), Messer Griesheim (2001: South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil; 2004: Germany, UK, USA), Linde Gas (2007, UK), Lurgi (2007, Germany), Scott Specialty Gases (2007, USA, UK, Netherlands).

In 2014, Air Liquide's total sales reached € 15.4 billion, more than 40% of which are solutions related to the protection of life and the environment. Air Liquide shares are listed on the Paris Stock Exchange (Division A), the company is a member of CAC 40 and Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50.

Main activity

The main activity of the company is the production of technical and medical gases:

  1. Industrial consumers: medium and small volumes of industrial gas consumption for various industries.
  2. Large industrial enterprises: large volumes of consumption of industrial gases and solutions in the field of energy resources ( steam and cogeneration for the chemical, oil refining and metallurgical industries).
  3. Electronics : ultrapure and main gases, chemical liquids, equipment and installation of electronic gas distribution systems and related services for semiconductor manufacturers.
  4. Healthcare : supply of medical gases and equipment, provision of services to hospitals and patients at home.

Air Liquide in Russia

The company has been operating in Russia since 1989, initially opening a representative office for the sale of equipment for the production of technical gases. In 2005, Air Liquide LLC, the Russian division for the supply of technical gases, was founded. Currently, the company operates 15 production sites in various regions of Russia ( Vologda , Saratov , Nizhny Novgorod , Ryazan , Tyumen regions, Moscow , St. Petersburg ). Over 700 employees are responsible for the supply of products and services to more than 1,500 Russian and international consumers. The total investment of Air Liquide in Russia since 2005 amounted to about 450 million euros.
