Aleksandr Zosimovich Shashkov ( December 20, 1957 , Moscow ) is a Russian television journalist and television presenter [1] .

Biography

Alexander Shashkov was born on December 20, 1957 in Moscow. Initially, he entered the Arabic department of the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University, but in his first year he moved to the journalism department of Moscow State University [2] , which he graduated in 1982 [3] .

He worked on broadcasting in the USSR State Radio and Television - in the Department of Broadcasting to France .

Since 1991, he has been a correspondent for Channel One (First Program) of the Central Television Center of the USSR (since December of the same year, the Ostankino State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company ), he also hosted the 90-minute morning information and music program.

From 1992 to 1994 - correspondent, host of the Vesti news program on RTR . He worked on the air during the days of the political crisis in October 1993 [4] .

In 1994 he came to the NTV channel . He worked as a special correspondent for the Today and Itogi programs. He led the programs "Today at midnight" [5] , "Today afternoon" [2] and "Today".

From January to December 1997, he led the Hero of the Day program on the same TV channel [2] .

Before the 1998 New Year holidays , Shashkov left NTV, and in January 1998 he became the host of the TV Center TV channel [6] . He conducted evening news releases on this channel and the analytical program “Day Seven” [2] .

In August 1998 [2] he returned to NTV as a reviewer of the Today and Itogi programs [7] . He worked on the channel until the well-known events of April 14, 2001 , related to the transition of NTV to the control of Gazprom Corporation [8] [9] [10] . In his letter of resignation to Boris Yordan, he wrote only one word - “Dismiss” [11] [12] .

From May 2001 to January 2002 he worked as a columnist for the Information Service of CJSC Moscow Independent Broadcasting Corporation ( TV-6 ) [13] . From June 2002 to June 2003 - in a similar position at CJSC Sixth TV Channel (TVS). He prepared reports for the programs Today on TV-6, Now, TVS News and Itogi [14] .

Since 2003 he has been working in the Russian edition of the Euronews channel [15] , where he reads the news behind the scenes [16] .

Since 2012, heads the Moscow office of the Euronews television channel [17] .

Family

Married to former presenter of the “120 Minutes” program, Yekaterina Gritsenko [18] [19] , has two daughters.
