One of the poisonous species of the genus, intensely yellowing in the air, with a sharp ink smell.
The cap of adult mushrooms is 2.5-7.5 cm in diameter, conical in young mushrooms, then convex and broad-convex, with a flat middle, with a turned edge. The surface is white, covered with grayish or gray-brown scales, in the center is gray-brown. The plates are free, in young mushrooms white, then pink and chocolate brown.
The pulp is white, in the air (at least at the base of the leg) intensely yellowing, with a pungent odor compared to the smell of ink, phenol or creosote.
The leg is 3.5-10 cm long, about 0.6-1.3 cm across, cylindrical, often with a club-shaped thickening at the base, often curved, with a film ring, often not tearing away from the edges of the hat, often with brown spots, single layer.
The spore imprint is dark brown.
