The area around the reservoir is almost completely built up with summer cottages founded back in the days of the USSR. Former resorts bought by businessmen. Also near the reservoir (on the eastern shore) is the village of Troitskoye . Bathing in water is not recommended by the sanitation, which every year gives a warning about exceeding sanitary standards (which does not prevent the local population from swimming). This is due to the large release of pollutants into the water, siltation of underground sources and the failure to clean the reservoir.
