Pansexuality [1] (from other Greek. Πάν- - all and lat. Sexus - gender) - a term used to refer to sexual or romantic attraction to people, regardless of biological gender and gender identity . [2]
Pansexuals can be attracted not only by cisgender and transgender women or men, but also by gender church and intersex . For them, gender does not play any role when choosing a partner. Pansexuals separate themselves from bisexuals, as pansexuals are “gender blind” in relation to their partner’s sex [3] .
Pansexuality and Bisexuality
In contrast to the term “ bisexuality ”, the term “pansexuality” means a broader concept and emphasizes not the duality of attraction, but its independence from sexual conventions [4] [5] .
The reasons why individuals , who are essentially pansexuals, do not associate themselves with pansexuality, may be due to the non-proliferation of the term and negative connotations . To popularize the term among Finnish youth, the Finnish writer Magdalena Hai wrote a fantasy novel "Third Sister" [6] .
