It is easily recognized by the rocatocephalus, repeatedly branched fruit bodies, at the ends with krynochkovymi sprouts.

Fruit bodies 2–8 (13) cm tall, usually in groups, often close, repeatedly (2–5, sometimes up to 10 times) whorled, branching, forming 5–6 branches in each branching; the branches of the first level are 1–3 mm thick, the branches of the second level are about 1 mm thick. The ends of the branches of the crown, rarely needle-shaped. Often there is a foot up to 2.5 cm long and about 2 mm thick. The color of the fruit bodies is first light yellow, then the upper branches fade to pale yellow, and closer to the base turn pale yellowish brown, and by old age they become completely brownish.
The flesh is soft, elastic, harsh, the taste is fresh to a clearly gnarly.
Gleotsistidy rarefied to abundant, protrude to a height of 15 μm above the basidia, cylindrical, pointed or swollen, (3) 4-6 (18) μm wide. Basidia (17) 20–28 (30) × (3.6) 4–4.8 (5.2) μm, with buckles, usually with 4 sterigms. White spores in mass, (3.5) 4-5 (5.5) × 2-2.6 (3) microns, amyloid, small-toed.
Edible mushroom of low quality.
A widespread species in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere, apparently absent on the Pacific coast of North America. Saprotrof, found on the vallege of hardwood.
