It is located on the street named after the graduate and teacher of 1914 - Victor Shunkov. Nearby is the historical and memorial zone of Kuznetsk. Moved to the Modern Building in 1970. Now it is a four-story typical building [2] .

History
- In the beginning - the district public school opened in 1790, one of the eight "small public schools" of Siberia [2] , closed after 6 years [3]
- Rediscovered in 1826 as a male county school [3] .
- It was reconstructed in 1834 .
- It was a methodological center for schools of the Kuznetsk district.
- In 1902, the County School was renamed City and the school uniform was maintained.
- In 1912, coeducation was conducted, and the school was renamed the Higher Primary Mixed School.
- In 1920, the school was renamed the second-level school.
- In 1924, the school was renamed nine-year-old with a pedagogical bias.
- In 1932, the school received No. 10.
- In 1971, the school returns to high school status.
- In 1996, received the status of a multidisciplinary gymnasium.
- June 18, 2019 receives the name of Dostoevsky [4]

Among the graduates, 1898 graduate Valentin Fedorovich Bulgakov became the last secretary of Leo Tolstoy. In the 1920s, he, along with other representatives of the intelligentsia, was expelled from the country and lived in Prague for 25 years.
Graduates of the school are also the secretary of Alexei Maximovich Gorky Pauline Kusurgashev , playwright Gennady Osipov , and St. George cavalier Egor Atuchin .
