John Wayne ( born John Barrington Wain ; March 14, 1925 - May 24, 1994 ) is a British poet, prose writer and critic. The most famous novel, “Hurry Down” (1953, p. 1960), is characteristic of the attitude of “ angry young people ” [2] . Realistic novels "Rivals" (1958), "Winter in the Mountains" (1970, p. 1972). In the spirit of popular culture, the novel "The Tale of the Seller of Indulgences" (1979). The story for teenagers “Lizzy is the mistress of a floating shop” (1981) and “Young shoulders” (1982). Author of a book about William Shakespeare (1964), the poem Feng (1975).

Biography
John Wayne - a native of an intelligent family, graduated from Oxford University , worked as a teacher of English literature at the University of Reading . In the 50s of the XX century. Wayne became known as one of the literary founders of the "angry youth" movement. His first novels “Hurry Down” (1953) and “Living in the Present” (1955) are the most vivid (along with Osborne's play “ Look Back in Anger ”) an expression of the moods that engulfed English youth in the first post-war years. At the beginning of his career, Wayne published several novels at once: Opponents (1958), Traveling Woman (1959), Kill Father (1965), Lesser Heaven (1967); collections of short stories: Nankle (1960), Death of the Hind Legs (1966), collections of poems and poems Major Iterli (1960), Wildtrack (1965).
Wayne wrote a number of articles and books about contemporary writers and writers of the past: in 1957, Wayne published Preliminary Essays, for which he received the Somerset Maugham Prize in 1958, and Essays on Literature and Ideas in 1963, in 1964. "The Living World of Shakespeare"; articles were written about Ezra Pound , George Orwell , Raymond Williams and others.
In the 50s of the XX century. in the novels of John Wayne, the comedic element prevailed (for example, "Hurry Down," "Living in the Present"). Laughter sometimes sounds in Winter in the Mountains, but Wayne, a comedian and comedian, receded into the background in this work in front of Wayne, who writes in a serious, sometimes epic, sometimes lyrical manner.
