Minyui

Minuy ( Edison de Minuy , French Les Éditions de Minuit , which translates as Midnight Editions) is an underground publishing house founded in Paris in 1942 by Vercors to publish books banned by the Nazis . The first publication was the novel " Silence of the Sea " by Vercor himself [1] . During the war, Francois Moriac , Paul Eluard , Louis Aragon and Andre Gide also printed at the publishing house.

After the war ended, the publishing house was on the verge of closure, but in the 1950s, under the leadership of Jerome Lendon, it found a new audience thanks to the rights to exclusive publication of avant-garde masters - Becket , Rob-Grieux , Duras , Simon . In addition to works of art, he also published philosophical works, in particular the works of Bataille and Derrida . The design of publications over 70 years has not changed much: they are devoid of illustrations, the cover is white, with the logo of the publisher - the Latin letter "m" and an asterisk.
