Altapress

The publishing house was created in 1990 - the first issue of the Free Course newspaper was published. The following year, in 1991, the project of the advertising and information newspaper “Buy-Sell” was launched, and in 1996 - the regional supplement to the newspaper “ Arguments and Facts ” was launched.

In 1997, the publishing house acquired the printing complex of color sheet printing, which became the basis of the printing house.

In 1998, Altapress acts as a publisher of the regional newspaper “ Youth of Altai ” and registers the magazine Telepark. In 2000, the company acquired the Marker Express newspaper, and in 2001 it went to press “Your Business”.

In 2003, the publishing house released the first glossy magazine "I buy." In 2006, Radio 22 begins its broadcasting.

In 2014, Altapress.ru launched the interactive project Pavodok.altapress.ru ^[2] . The project is a map on which each user can add their own stories, photos and videos of the floods that occurred in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic ^[3] .

In January 2016, Yury Purgin ^{[4] [5],} general director of the Altapress publishing house, was elected president of the Altai Territory public organization “Demidov Foundation”.

In February 2016, the company sold a legal entity for which the Silver Rain in Barnaul radio station (Radio 22) and a frequency of 106.4 FM were issued ^[6] . It was reported that the asset was acquired by a private investor from Moscow, and Altapress plans to invest the proceeds from the transaction in the development of Internet projects ^[7] .

March 4, 2016 ^[8] NTV channel in the program “PE. Investigation: Debtors of the Department of State declared that the Altapress publishing house and other Russian regional media owners were financed by the US State Department to “establish control over them” ^[9] . According to the channel, in 1999-2002, Altapress received five credits worth more than $ 2.5 million ^[9] . In response, the founders and managers of the company in a collective publication explained that the loan for the construction of the printing house was officially taken from the non-state international media credit fund (MDLF) working in Russia and by March 2016 had already been drawn out and now the equipment and the building are owned by the ED; according to them, for 25 years of the existence of Altapress, no one interfered in its editorial policy ^[10] . Representatives of the journalistic and publishing community also criticized the NTV plot ^{[8] [11] [12]} .

The Altapress printing house today publishes its own newspapers and magazines, as well as publications from Biysk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kuzbass, Gorno-Altaisk and Kazakhstan. The typographical complex is equipped with modern equipment: three sheet-fed machines, a high-speed rotary machine, a sewing-cutting line, two cutting machines and a press-cutting machine.

The company employs about 1 thousand people.

• The “ Free Course ” for honoring the traditions of quality journalism and the ideals of freedom of speech was awarded the Die Zeit Foundation of Germany (Die Zeit, Germany) “Young Press of Eastern Europe” ( 2003 ).
• The National Circulation Service has repeatedly recognized the Free Course as the winner in the Record of the Year contest in the Regional Social Weekly Week nomination. For six consecutive years, the newspaper has held this position ( 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 ^{[14] [15]} ).
• Art director of the publishing house Alexei Shelepov received the award of the Moscow International Advertising Festival Golden Apple for developing the Radio 22 trademark ( 2006 ).
• The general director of the publishing house, Yuri Purgin, became the laureate of the “Media Manager of Russia” award ( 2007 ).
• A group of publishing house employees: Yu. Purgin, V. Ovchinnikov, D. Shevkunov, I. Prokhorova, and N. Skalon became laureates of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of print media. In the same year, the editorial office of the newspaper Svobodny Kurs won in the 6th open All-Russian contest Newspaper Design ( 2008 ).
• According to the results of the interregional journalism mastery competition “Siberia - the territory of hopes”, the Free Course newspaper became the best in the “Print Media” nomination. And the information portal Altapress.ru won the first place in the nomination “Internet edition” ( 2014 ) ^[16] .
