Biography

Born in the city of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region . Russian.

In 1972 he graduated from high school number 6.

Military Service

In 1972 he entered the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots [1] . After graduating from it in 1976, he served in combat helicopter regiments .

Later he was transferred to the Center for Combat Use and Retraining of the Flight Composition of the Army Aviation in the city of Torzhok as a pilot-researcher in the flight-methodical department.

In the 1980s, he took part in the fighting in Afghanistan . He traveled abroad on business trips to Angola , Mozambique , Libya , Ethiopia to train foreign air force personnel and to study the experience of operating helicopters in severe climatic conditions.

In 1985 he was awarded the Order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" III degree [2] .

From 1989 to 1997, with the rank of colonel, he headed the flight-methodical department of the Center’s management. He took part in the First Chechen War .

Since 1991 - as part of the Golden Eagles aerobatic team. For the first time he completed a series of difficult aerobatics on a Mi-24P helicopter .

Since 1995 - Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation . Graduated from the Yu.A. Gagarin Air Force Academy .

In 1996, he was awarded the Order of Courage [2] for testing and researching new aircraft in life-threatening conditions.

Since 1997 - as part of the Black Sharks aerobatic team. He took part in the Moscow Airshow air holidays and represented Russian helicopters at international air shows and exhibitions. Total flight time over 5000 hours.

From the same year, he served in the Army Aviation Administration of the Ground Forces (after 2003 it became subordinate to the Air Force ) [3] - as the head of the military aviation combat training department [4] .

He took part in the Second Chechen War . In the summer of 2000, he conducted a unique military operation, destroying a particularly dangerous bandit group near the village of Serzhen-Yurt .

From December 2000 to February 2001, he fought in Chechnya as the commander of an experimental combat strike group consisting of two Ka-50 attack helicopters (Black Shark) and the Ka-29VPNTsU all-weather target designation helicopter [5] .

On September 23, 2004, for the courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty in the North Caucasus region under conditions associated with a risk to life, Colonel Rudykh Alexander Vitalievich was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation .

February 27, 2007 awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the Ust-Kutsky District of the Irkutsk Region .

Continues to serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation .
