Best known as the guitarist of the band Jethro Tull , who played in it from 1969 to 2011 . He took part in the recording of all her albums except the very first - This Was . His style is a mix of blues in the style of Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton with baroque elements of progressive rock of the early 1970s and traditional European folk music sounds. In addition to the guitar, he played the saxophone, flute and other instruments. Released four solo albums.
At the end of 2011, Martin Barr announced that he was leaving Jethro Tull for at least two years. In 2012, he toured with a new band called "New Day", in which another former Jethro Tull member Jonathan Noyce played. In 2013, the composition of the group changed. The basis of the released discs and touring performances are the compositions of Jethro Tull.
