The great popularity of the Halloween movie series led to several comic book editions in the early 2000s published by Chaos Comics and Devil's Due Publishing.

The very first series of comics based on the popular movie series was released by Brian Palido (Chaos Comics). Daniel Farrands also contributed to the screenplay for Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers . The plot tells about the matured Tommy Doyle, who is obsessed with the idea of killing Michael. The first issue tells us a lot about Myers childhood, while the events of the 3rd issue take place after the movie " Halloween: 20 years later ."
The plot of this series was based on the ideas of Daniel Farrands for the eighth part of the series. The producers wanted to follow the course of events after the 20th anniversary: Tommy Doyle was sent to Smiths Grove for imprisonment for Myers crimes, but the young man manages to escape from there - he finds Lindsey Wallace and begins to study Dr. Loomis’s notes with her, learning more about past Michael. The film was originally intended to show Michael and Dr. Loomis during the Myers imprisonment at Smiths Grove before returning to Tommy and Lindsay when they are attacked by an adult Michael. During a fight with Myers, his mask flies off, and it turns out that this is not Michael at all, but Laurie Strode, who went crazy and continued the work of (finally) her dead brother. Farrends logic was clear - since Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to an episodic appearance in the 8th part, it should be memorable and unexpected for all fans. However, the producers decided to abandon this idea. Then he got the opportunity to translate his ideas into comics.
Halloween I: Unsolved Mysteries
Halloween I: Untold Secrets / Halloween I: Untold Secrets [1] . Some time after the death of Dr. Loomis, Tommy Doyle receives from a colleague Sam (whom Myers had already killed), the doctor’s notes made during the detention of Michael in Smith Grove: in the diaries, Loomis describes his attempts to cure Michael, recognized as insane, or at least least to make him speak, but over the years that Myers spent in the hospital he did not say a word. The many deaths of adolescent patients from the clinic did not raise any doubts about the head of the hospital, Dr. Carpenter, but Loomis knew that those misfortunes were not accidental. Myers soon kills Dr. Hill, the bride of Dr. Loomis, just a few months before their wedding. When Tommy finishes reading, Michael appears in his house and tries to kill him. But the young man repels the maniac - he falls out of the window, and then disappears. "
Halloween II: Eyes of Darkness
Halloween II: Eyes of Darkness / Halloween II: The Blackest Eyes [2] . Tommy knows where to look for Michael - in his old house. But there he only finds the dead Richie Castle, whom Sheriff Beckett puts in the trunk. Tommy follows the sheriff to the field, where he begins to dig a grave. At gunpoint, Tommy forces the sheriff to tell him everything he knows about Myers, but finds out even more: the city of Haddonfield was founded by members of the cult of the spirit of Sanheim, and the ancestors of Myers were chosen as sacrifices when one of them was supposed to kill his family. For several centuries, such a fate has been visited by the Myers clan. When the sheriff finishes the story, cult members kidnap him and Tommy and hide in the basement of one of the city’s churches, where Myers soon appears.
Halloween III: Eyes of the Devil
Halloween III: The Eyes of the Devil / Halloween III: The Devil's Eyes [3] . Tommy Doyle has been admitted to a psychiatric clinic for the murder of Sheriff Beckett. But the young man knows the truth: Myers killed the sheriff, who escaped from a burned church that fateful night.

Scared to Really
A special issue called “One Good Scare” was released by the same publisher in 2003 [4] [5] . The plot was written by Stefan Hutchinson ( Eng. Stefan Hutchinson ), and illustrations - created by Peter Fielding ( Eng. Peter Fielding ).
The story takes place in 2003. David Loomis, the son of Dr. Sam Loomis, continued his father’s work, inheriting the practice at Smith Grove Hospital, which contains a grown-up Lindsay Wallace, confident that Michael Myers will come for her. David does not share Sam’s obsession with the murderer and in every possible way avoids thoughts about the possibility of the return of the maniac. Whatever the case, David soon realizes that history has the property of repeating itself: to help Lindsey, he must understand Michael Myers’s story and even visit his childhood home in Haddonfield. But on Halloween 2003, Michael ends up at the Smiths Grove, killing anyone who gets in his way. David is trying to protect Lindsay, but fear prevails, and the man hides, watching as Michael carries away a frightened Lindsay to meet her death. In the mess arranged by Michael, readers see a photo of David and his father - the glass cracked, hinting that Michael would return also for David.
Autopsy
Waiting for the rights to the series, Hutchinson began creating the documentary film Halloween: 25 Years Of Terror in collaboration with Malek Akkad. Together, they began developing storylines for future comic book series.
On July 25, 2006, along with the release of a documentary on DVD, a special issue of Autopsis appears [6] . The plot was again written by Hutchinson himself, and drawings were taken by Marcus Smith ( Eng. Marcus Smith ) and Nick Dismas ( Eng. Nick Dismas ). The story tells of a photographer Carter who is tasked with taking a photo of Michael Myers. To do this, he begins to follow Dr. Loomis until he finally becomes obsessed with Myers. The long-awaited meeting takes place and ends tragically ...
The reboot of the series by Rob Zombie gave green light to Hutchinson - after all, now the plots of comics will not contradict the next fundamentally new films.
Night Dance
In 2008, Stefan Hutchinson released the first issue of his new series called "Nightdance", consisting of 4 parts [7] . The series is notable for the fact that, in addition to Michael, not a single hero of the original movie series appears in it. Hutchinson says he was trying to move away from the concept of recent films and return to the roots - the heavy, oppressive atmosphere of the 1978 film.

30 Years of Horror
In August 2008, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the series, Devil's Due publishes a collection number called 30 Years Of Terror [12] . The special issue includes several short stories invented based on the original picture:
- Trick or Treat. The Mackenzie spouses are the neighbors Tommy and Lindsay ran to on the night of Michael's first attack.
- Another point of view / POV The second story shows the assassination of the beauty queen from both the point of view of Michael and the girl.
- Visiting Hours. Lori imagines how her life would have been if her brother had not found her back in 1978.
- Tommy & The Boogeyman. Tommy Doyle grew up and started writing comics about Michael Myers.
- Repetition Compulsion. Dr. Loomis is trying to predict where Myers will end up on Halloween 1989.
Hutchinson explains that he decided to create this issue because, unlike other anniversaries, a new film of the cycle did not come out in 2008.
The First Death of Laurie Strode
The last series of 2 issues so far released in 2008 - “Masks & Grotesque Figures” and “Demons Tormenting Me” - tells about the events in the life of Lori Strode that took place between 2 and 7 films [13] [14] . The plot of Hutchinson, drawing - Jeff Zornow ( born Jeff Zornow ). Lori is trying to recover from the bloody events of Halloween 1978, but how can life get better if you have experienced such horror? Although Michael appears on the pages of the series, it is unclear whether he is real, or whether this imagination Laurie plays a terrible joke with her. Hutchinson admits that he does not like the plot twist, according to which Laurie and Michael are blood relatives. Therefore, in this series, he decided to avoid all mention of this fact. Hutchinson believes that the most interesting thing in this story is not the reason that Laurie staged her own death and took on a new name, Carey Tate. Of interest to him are the heroine's thoughts, her emotions, feelings, which pushed Lori to this.
The planned final part (the third issue called “The Infernal Cortege”) was never published for unknown reasons [15] - the release dates were repeatedly postponed until the information about the release of the series finale completely disappeared.
Thorn Sign
In addition, another series was planned entitled “The Sign of Thorne” ( Halloween: The Mark Of Thorn ) - in which the authors expected to continue the storyline of the sixth film and talk more about the curse of Samhain and the origins of the supernatural power of Michael Myers [16] .
The plot focuses on growing up and becoming a writer, Tommy Doyle, whom the publisher persuades to write an artistic version of what happened to him in childhood [17] . History should make sense of the craziness Michael Myers has been doing at Haddonfield all these years. Also in the comic strip “The Man in Black” was supposed to appear, but it was not Dr. Wynn [16] . The plot was written by Stephen Hutchinson along with Jeff Katz, who participated in the creation of the comic strip “ Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash ” [17] .
