Milo Milunović ( Serb. Milo Milunovi ; August 6, 1897 , Cetinje , Montenegro - May 25, 1967 , Belgrade ) - Montenegrin painter [1] . Creator of the Montenegrin school of painting of the first half of the XX century [2] .

Biography

Born in Cetinje, Montenegro. He studied at the workshop of Alberto Giacometti in Florence ( 1912 - 1914 ). He lived mainly in Belgrade (in 1919-22 and in 1926-1932 in Paris). Professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (since 1937).

Influenced by Paul Cezanne and Cubism ; in the 1920s he approached neoclassicism , in the 1930s he used the techniques of impressionism . Works after 1945 are characterized by bright decorativeness, a clear, somewhat sketchy drawing, and the use of national motifs. He also worked in the field of monumental painting (painting in the building of the Executive Council of the Socialist Republic of Serbia in Belgrade, 1955).
