History
It was formed on August 19, 1939 in the Leningrad Military District in Malaya Vishera on the basis of the rifle regiment of the 49th rifle division .
In 1939 she took part in the Winter War .
In the army during the Great Patriotic War from 06/22/1941 to 09/30/1944 and from 10/15/1944 to 05/09/1945.
On June 22, 1941, it was deployed in the Lahdenpohja region, and on June 29, 1941, it occupied a 59 km long entrusted defense zone, including 10 kilometers of inaccessible terrain. Entered the battles 06/30/1941 on the main site of the efforts of the Finnish troops. By July 3, 1941, Finnish troops broke through the division’s defenses on the right flank and wedged into battle formations at the front about 20 kilometers to a depth of 12-15 kilometers, until July 10, 1941, the division conducted counter-offensive battles and by July 10, 1941 had practically restored its position on the border, excluding a small, 8-kilometer bridgehead. The 461st rifle regiment was especially distinguished, whose commander V. Trubachev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on 07/25/1941, and the regiment was awarded the Order of Lenin.
The new line of defense of the division passed along the line of Ristilahti , height 103, height 162.2, height 92.0, Meriya, Iyarvi, Khukhtalampi, Lemminko, height 112.8. Again, on the division’s division, the enemy resumed the offensive on 07/31/1941, and by 10/10/1941 was able to break through the division’s defense at the junction of its units, and the division was cut off from the main army units. On the morning of August 10, 1941 , the division made an unsuccessful attempt to break through in the direction of Yankol - Kexholm .
On the night of 08/12/1941, the army commander decided to organize the units in the skerry region of Ladoga on the island of Kilpola . Front commander K. E. Voroshilov canceled the decision, but soon agreed, and in the period until 08/23/1941 the division was transferred to the Saunasari by the courts of the Ladoga Flotilla and again took up positions on the right flank of the army, adjoining Lake Ladoga, and then fighting retreated with the army to the border of the old state border.
From September 1941 to 1943, it defended along the shore of Lake Lembolovsky. The headquarters of the division was in Garbolovo .
When the troops of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts joined on January 12-18, 1943, breaking the blockade of Leningrad , the division was included in the 67th Army , and from January 20, 1943, the division waged fierce battles in the Sinyavino area. The 946th and 461st rifle regiments suffered heavy losses. The division fought near Sinyavino for a month and a half, then was returned to the Karelian Isthmus in the area between Lake Ladoga and Lembolovsky , fought in the direction of Losevo.
Since July 9, 1944, he has been participating in the Vyborg offensive operation, taking over the bridgehead on the opposite bank of the Vuoksa River in the Baryshevo area, was unable to expand it and was replaced by other parts on the bridgehead with bloodlessness. In the battles for forcing the Vuoksa River, mass heroism of the division soldiers was shown. Since the fall of 1944 is in reserve.
In September 1944, the division went to the shores of Lake Peipsi and further to the area of Tartu . Only from 08.01.1945 from the Narevsky bridgehead during the East Prussian operation entered the battles again, went to the Mlava fortified area, passing it, came to Marienburg by the end of January 1945. On January 31, 1945, it defended with a front north-east along the western bank of the Kleppine River from Freivalde (22 kilometers southeast of Lake Drausen See) to Lake Drausen See south of Elbing with the task of securing the right flank and rear of the 2nd shock army and to prevent the enemy from breaking through the Wormditt area to the Vistula River. Then it was moved south, on the approaches to the well-fortified city, where from February 22, 1945, crossing the Vistula , it was fighting hard for the surrounded city of Graudenz , which it took part on March 6, 1945, then the division turned north, fought on the approaches to Danzig , participated in his capture 03/30/1945.
In April 1945 she took part in the Berlin operation, advancing along the coast of the Baltic Sea to Stralsund , where she ended the hostilities.
