In 1867 he graduated from the Liege Conservatory .
One of the founders ( 1873 ) [1] and a long-term teacher (until 1920 ) of the Verviers Conservatory, where among his students were, in particular, Jean Gerardi , Ivan d'Archambault and Paul Kefer . He is the author of the “Cello Preparation Course” ( French Cours préparatoire de violoncelle ). Massardo’s reputation as a first-class teacher and his role in the formation of his student Gerardi dwells in detail on the 1892 musical chronicle, which was then included in the book “Music in London” ( 1894 ) [2] . Massot is also known for the support he provided to the young Guillaume Lekeux , organizing the performance of his works with Louis Käfer [3] .
