Biography

Having left his hometown, he went to Antalya , where he studied with Muhammad ibn Hamza al-Fanari. Later he settled in Kutahya, where he taught at the Demirkapi Madrasah (later this school was named after al-Wahid).

Scientific activity

Abd al-Wahid wrote the following works on astronomy:

  • Sharḥal ‐ Mulakhkhaṣ fī al ‐ hayʾa - commentary on the famous astronomy textbook written by Jagmini .
  • Sharḥ Sī faṣl - commentary on the work of At-Tusi on practical astronomy.
  • Maʿālim al ‐ awqāt wa ‐ sharḥuhu is a verse book (522 verses) that describes astrolabe and its practical application.
