Etymology
The village got its name after the church of the Kazan Mother of God built in it, which was built in 1781 . [3]
Geographical position
The settlement is located on the right bank of the Kshen River in the southeastern part of the Livensky District [4] . The length of west-east is 12 km, south-north is 17 km. In the south-east it borders with the Dolzhansky district , in the west with the Nikolsky rural settlement from which it is separated by the natural boundary - the Kshen river, in the north with the Sergievsky rural settlement , in the east with the Navestnensky and in the south-east with the Lipetsk region .
Composition of a rural settlement
The center of the settlement is the village of Kazanskoe (Yamskoe). In addition to it, the structure includes: the village of Free Dubrava (Pork Dubrava) and Norovka (Grachevka), the settlements Bukreevka, Birches, Olkhov Meadow, Yamsky Inns, and the village Kalinets (Kalinovets).
