Sun-2

Sun Server 2/120

Sun-2 is a series of Unix workstations and servers launched by Sun Microsystems in 1983. As the name suggests, Sun-2 represents the second generation of Sun computers, replacing the first Sun-1 series. The Sun-2 models used a Motorola 68010 microprocessor with a clock frequency of 10 MHz with a proprietary MMU ; they were running the SunOS 1.0 operating system. Early Sun-2 models used Intel Multibus , later VMEbus architecture was used, which was also used in the neighboring Sun-3 and Sun-4 families.

Sun-2 systems were supported by the SunOS operating system up to version 4.0.3. Multibus Sun-2 support was added to NetBSD in 2002 with the release of NetBSD 1.6.
