Ilic, Branko

Branko Ilich ( Sloven . Branko Ilič ; born in February 6, 1983 , Ljubljana , Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian football player, defender of the Olympia club. He played in the national team of Slovenia . Twice the vice-champion of Slovenia (2005–2006), champion of Serbia (2015), champion of Kazakhstan (2015).

Career

Club

He started his professional career at the age of 20 at the Olympia Club in Ljubljana, where he debuted in 2003 against Koper . After serious financial problems in the club in January 2005, he moved to the neighboring Domžale , where he played two seasons and became twice the vice-champion of Slovenia.

In January 2007, he moved to Spanish Betis , on loan, becoming the first Slovenian player in the history of the club. The first match for the new club was played in the quarterfinal of the Spanish Cup against Sevilla . Already on February 4, he played the first match in the Championship of Spain against Athletic Bilbao , where he made an assist on Robert . After a well-conducted player ending the season in the summer of 2007, Betis bought Ilic transfer from Domžale for 1.5 million euros.

On August 31, 2009, Ilic transferred to Moscow on a loan basis [1] . He made his debut at the new club on September 17 in a match against Lokomotiv (0: 1). But on March 10, 2010, he moved to Lokomotiv Moscow, having signed a two-year contract [2] . In the new club, he debuted on May 15 in a match against Perm “ Amkar ” (2: 0) [3] . But two years later, in February 2012, Lokomotiv did not renew the contract [4] .

Since the summer of 2012, Branco during the season played for the Cyprus “ Anorthosis ”, then a year in the Israeli “ Hapoel ” (Tel Aviv). As a free agent, Ilic has signed a one-year contract with the Belgrade Partizan . And with Partizan, Branko became the champion of Serbia in the summer of 2015.

In July 2015, Ilic transfer for 180 thousand euros with the aim of strengthening the defense bought the Kazakhstan club " Astana " [5] . And this season Ilic has become the champion of Kazakhstan .

In January 2016, Branko Ilic signed a contract with the Japanese club “ Urava Red Diamonds ” [6] . The head coach of the team is Serb Mikhailo Petrovich .

In the national team

He made his debut in the national team on August 18, 2004 in a friendly match with the national team of Serbia at the age of 21. He was summoned to the national team to prepare for the two butt matches of the qualifying tournament of the 2010 World Cup with the Russian team on November 14 and 18, 2009 [7] .
