Biography
He graduated from the Mountain Cadet Corps in St. Petersburg in 1820 , was identified in the main drawing house of Barnaul.
In 1821 he was seconded to the Nerchinsk factories . He served in the office of the chief, worked in search parties in the vicinity of the Nerchinsky Plant, Vozdvizhensky mine. Developed a regulation on the Nerchinsk Mining College.
In 1826, he conducted geological studies of gold and tin ores of the Adun-Chelonsky ridge. In the same year, he compiled a description of 80 species of Nerchinsk minerals, some of which were found and identified for the first time. In the "Mountain Journal" published an article "Description of the Adun-Chelon Ridge", "Geographical Description of the Ishaginskaya Valley", "Description of the Undinsky Gold Mine".
Upon his return to Altai in 1829, A.I. Kulibin was identified as an assistant manager of the Zmeinogorsk Territory . He was interested in local toponymy.
In 1829-1830, a special military judicial commission functioned in Zmeinogorsk under the chairmanship of surveyor A. I. Kulibin with the task of “ strengthening the speedy production and resolution of cases ” in the Zmeinogorsk commission of a military court. From Transbaikalia he left for the Kolyvano-Voskresensky plants, worked as the manager of the Loktevsky factory.
In connection with the transfer of mines and plants for rent to the Ministry of Finance (1830), Minister E. F. Kankrin wished to have a detailed description of them. This was entrusted to do by A.I. Kulibin. In 1834, he presented " Description of the Kolyvano-Voskresensky factories for 1833. "
Emperor Nicholas I "for his excellent diligent service and work in compiling a description of the Kolyvano-Voskresensky plants" awarded A.I. Kulibin the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree. “The work of A. I. Kulibin ,” wrote the famous Altai researcher Professor G. E. Shchurovsky , “was written with perfect knowledge of the matter and deserves full gratitude .” The work has become a valuable contribution to the historiography of Altai.
Since 1834 A.I. Kulibin - manager of state-owned gold mines. Compiled “ A brief description of all known gold-bearing placers discovered from 1830 to 1835 ” ( 1835 ).
On April 27, 1837, a hunting accident cut short the life of a talented mining engineer, according to the recall of the head of the Kolyvan and Altai factories, E. P. Kovalevsky , who clearly emerged "from the ranks of ordinary officials."

Poems by A. I. Kulibin were published in the Proceedings of the Free Society of Russian Literature. Alexander Ivanovich with his poems performed in various literary societies of St. Petersburg.
