Story
The film is about a girl named Devon, who lives with her parents in one of the wealthy American suburbs, with perfect lawns and always smiling and friendly neighbors. But in reality this is just a bright wrapper, under which there is complete indifference, even to the closest members of his family.
In an effort to fill the void of human relations, she creates her own world, a new unusual reality in which she lives alone. The only person close to her is a guy named Trent, who is hired to mow lawns. He lives in a motor home, in the forest and away from people. He becomes a true friend for her, despite the fact that he is twice her age, with him Devon can just fool around childishly and behave completely freely, despite any restrictions.
Riding once on Trent’s car across the field, they notice an evil Doberman belonging to one of Devon’s wealthy neighbors, running unattended. Devon offers to catch him. However, Trent knocks down the dog and, asking Devon to close his eyes, finishes off the dog with a blackboard. Devon sees everything, is scared, does not understand Trent’s act and runs to his parents, talking about what he did. However, her parents misunderstand her words, thinking that Trent sexually molested her daughter and told everything to the local guard. Then father Devon, the guard and the owner of the dead dog go to Trent to figure it out, and Devon shows the way. In front of her eyes, the guard and father beat Trent in turn, and when the owner of the dog raises a strike board over him, Devon takes his father’s pistol and shoots him in the stomach. Threatening the guard and her own father with a pistol, she demands a wallet from her father and gives it to Trent, forcing him to flee. Taking out cartridges from the gun so that the girl does not injure anyone else, Trent leaves.
