Biography
Early years
Born in 1919 in the city of Buzuluk, Orenburg region in a large family of a worker. In the family was the youngest, sixth child. Russian . Member of the CPSU since 1945. He graduated from junior high school . He worked as a student, then as a mechanic at the Kirov Mechanical Plant .
Battle Path
In 1939, he was drafted by the New District Military Commissariat in the Red Army . At the front from October 1941 to Victory Day . He graduated from the Pushkin Tank School in 1944 ( Rybinsk ) [2] .
He fought on the Karelian , 1st Ukrainian , 1st Belorussian fronts . He liberated Ukraine , Poland , forced the Western Bug , the Vistula , the Oder . He participated in the liberation of the cities of Kovel , Lyuboml , Radzyn-Podlaski , Pulawy [3] ( Pulawski bridgehead ), Lukow , Siedlce , Zvolen , Radom , Lodz , Tomaszow Mazowiecki , Poznan , Zherkuv , Srem , Grodzisk , Chempin , Wolsztyn Babim , Babim and Friedrichsfelde . Was injured. A participant in the operation to retain and expand the bridgehead in the Küstrin region (February – March 1945), the assault on the Imperial Chancellery and the Reichstag. Victory Day 1945 met in the center of Berlin.

The commander of the tank platoon of the 65th Volnovakha [6] Red Banner Order of the Suvorov and Kutuzov Tank Brigade of the 11th Radom-Berlin Red Banner Order of the Suvorov and Kutuzov Tank Corps. Kovel offensive operation (since June 1944 as part of the 47th Army of Gusev ) [7] , Lublin-Brest , Wisło-Oder (as part of the 69th Army ), Warsaw-Poznan and Berlin operations as part of the 1st Guards and 5th shock army.
Feat
From 04.16. On April 19, 455, Senior Lieutenant Gnilomedov personally destroyed 8 tanks (three Panthers , one Tiger and four PzKpfw IV ), 3 self-propelled guns , 3 anti-tank guns , 125 soldiers and enemy officers.
April 16, 1945 on the approaches to the junction station Verbig ( German: Werbig ) East Prussian railway. D. ( German Preußische Ostbahn ), north of the city of Zeelov , the senior lieutenant I. A. Gnilomёdov was tasked with cutting off and destroying the column of German troops. Gnilomyodov’s tank platoon rushed across the enemy. From a fire attack, vehicles in a convoy flashed, and the personnel sitting on them fell under the destructive fire of Soviet tankmen. Gnilomedov led his platoon to the flank of the defending enemy and, using cannon and machine gun fire, destroyed three T-5 tanks, one T-6 tank and 35 Faustniks . On April 18, 1945, reflecting the counterattack of enemy tanks in the village of Wulkow ( German Wulkow ) 10 km northwest of the city of Zeelov , he destroyed 4 more T-4 tanks. In a swift attack on the dominant height of 58.7, north of Lake Haussee ( German Haussee ), he destroyed three anti-tank guns and up to 30 enemy soldiers. In this battle, from direct hits, his combat vehicle caught fire and wounded the lieutenant himself. Nevertheless, Gnilomedov extinguished the flame and took his car to cover. At the risk of his life, he came to the rescue of the crew of the second lieutenantI.A. Pura and, having eliminated the fire on the tank, brought him to cover, and then delivered to SPAM (Precast Station of Emergency Cars).
For these exploits, the command presented Gnilomedov to the highest award. His award leaflet says:
From 04.16. to 04/19/45, Comrade Gnilomedov personally destroyed 8 tanks, 3 self-propelled guns , 3 anti-tank guns , 125 enemy soldiers and officers. His decisive actions, personal heroism, initiative and readiness for self-sacrifice contributed to the great success of the battalion and brigade. He deserves the highest government award - the award of the title of Hero of the Soviet Union .
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on May 31, 1945 [8] .
11 victories are only from 04/16/45 to 04/19/45. The award leaflet to the Order of the Red Banner [9] also speaks of two self-propelled guns wounded on 01/15/45 in the area of Druzhanka, Kuchki is now the Radom County , the Masovian Voivodeship , the anthem Guzd , and the award leaflet to the Order of the Red Star [10] tells about another one Self- propelled guns 07/30/44 during the assault on the city of Siedlec . Total reliably in three award leaflets documented 14 victories.

In the area northwest of Verbig, the brigade was counterattacked by 42 tanks and assault guns with the support of enemy infantry from the west and southwest. Tankers of the 65th Tank Brigade, with the support of heavy tanks of the 50th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment, successfully repelled the Nazi attack. The crews of the heavy tank company of the guard Captain V. A. Romanov [11] of the 50th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment distinguished themselves in this battle. They knocked out three enemy tanks and destroyed a lot of manpower. The tank company of the tank brigade under the command of senior lieutenant F.S. Kostyuk and the tank platoon of the same company under the command of lieutenant I.A. Gnilomedov showed themselves especially well in repelling the counterattack. They destroyed 17 tanks and self-propelled guns of the Nazis . For courage and heroism shown during the counterattack of enemy tanks, the senior lieutenant Kostyuk and the platoon commander, Lieutenant Gnilomedyov received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

Post-war
Since 1946, Senior Lieutenant I.A. Gnilomedov was in reserve. In 1953 he graduated from the Buzuluk Forest College . He worked as an engineer in the fur forestry of Buzuluk boron .
After the war, he lived for some time in Tashkent , then worked in Buzuluk , conducted military-patriotic work.
He died on October 21, 1987 .
