Archaeological sites

On the territory of Verkhnetalovsky rural settlement there are more than a dozen archaeological sites that are attractions of this region.

  • Kargan group “Vetchinkova I” consists of three barrows and is located at a distance of 600 meters to the south-west side of the village of Vetchinovka.
  • The Vatchinkov II Kargan group also includes three barrows, which are located 3 kilometers west of the village of Vetchinovka.
  • The Yasinovy ​​Kurgan group consists of 3 barrows located 4 kilometers west-south-west of the Verkhnetalovsky farm.
  • The Grekovo-Stanichny III mound is located on the southern outskirts of the Grekovo-Stanichny farm.
  • The Grekovo-Stanichny I barrow group consists of 2 barrows, which are located at a distance of 2 kilometers south of the Grekovo-Stanichny farm.
  • The Grekovo-Stanichny II Kurgan group consists of two barrows located to the north at a distance of 2 kilometers from the Grekovo-Stanichny farm.
  • Kurgan group "Red Morning" accommodates three mounds at a distance of 750 meters to the north-north-east from the Krasnaya Zarya farm.
  • Lesnoy Barrow is located to the northwest at a distance of 4 kilometers from the Krasnaya Zarya Farm.
  • The Kumshatsky mound is located at a distance of 5, 5 kilometers east of the Kumshatsky farm.
  • The Turoverov mound is located 600 kilometers north-north-west of the Novoivanovka farm.
  • The GOK-1 mound group consists of two mounds located on the southern outskirts of the city of Millerovo.
  • The GOK-2 mound is located on the southern outskirts of the city of Millerovo.
  • The Millerovsky Kurgan group includes 2 mounds at a distance of 1.7 kilometers southwest of the city of Millerovo.
  • The Karpov Yar group of mounds includes 3 mounds at a distance of 2.7 kilometers southeast of the city of Millerovo [9] .

In the vicinity of the Verkhnetalovsky rural settlement, there are more than 73 species of plants and animals that are included in the Red Book of the Rostov Region. These are representatives of the fauna:

  • Red Book insects: sentinel-emperor, stag beetle, darkling-gnaptor, Euphrates goldfish, carpenter bee, etc.
  • Birds: heron, gray duck, hoopoe, pheasant, hazel grouse, partridge, owl, magpie, middle spotted woodpecker, etc.
  • Representatives of the flora: steppe morel, mushroom champignon, tinder fungus, mosses, lichens, river horsetail, angelica, fluffy spain, girch, hoofed grass, solyanka wormwood, cornflower, serpukha, bruise, etc.

Here are located the unique chalk hills of the Glubokaya River in the Kumshatsky Farm and the Turoverovo-Glubokinsky Farm.
