The port is included in the list of the National Plan of the United Airport System for 2011–2015 under the category “main commercial service” (more than ten thousand passengers annually) [2] . According to the United States Federal Aviation Administration, in 2008, Skagway Airport served 10,727 passengers [3] , in 2009, 6,468 passengers used the airport’s services, and 8,531 people in 2010 [4] .

From December 31, 2005 to December 31, 2006, Skagway Airport handled 12,500 aircraft take-offs and landings (an average of 34 operations daily), of which 86% were for aerotaxi flights and 14% of operations were for general aviation aircraft [1] .
