Betty is an alternative rock band from New York . Founded in 1986 by Elizabeth Ziff, Alison Palmer and Amy Ziff. Three soloists who write lyrics and arrangements of songs together. Betty is also known as an activist for women's rights, sexual minorities , and the fight against AIDS .

The group gained world fame as a result of writing the soundtrack for the series “Sex in another city” (“The L Word”) .
The group is characterized by its original style, The Washington Post described it as “a talent to combine surreal with the ordinary in the style of Fellini, ” alternative rock with elements of rock opera, punk and pop combined with a stage freak show.
In September 2009, the group first visited Russia, speaking at the International Queer Culture Festival , organized under the patronage of the Russian LGBT Network .
