Company Founding

Ossian Studios was founded in 2003 by Alan Miranda and his wife Elizabeth Starr . The company is named after the legendary Celtic bard , the Warrior Ossian, who spoke about great adventures and traveled through a military paradise, where soldiers feasted, fought and died, so that they could reborn again, feast and fight forever.

Alan Miranda

Alan Miranda is a former BioWare producer who produced Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal and helped produce Neverwinter Nights . Prior to joining BioWare, he was a designer at Relic Entertainment , where he worked on game mechanics and levels for RTS Impossible Creatures . He is currently producing all the games released by Ossian Studios. Alan holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of British Columbia and a diploma in programming two-and three-dimensional computer games from the School of Applied Computer Graphics DigiPen.

Darkness over Daggerford

Darkness over Daggerford - a module for Neverwinter Nights , which takes place in the universe of Forgotten Realms . The module brings to the game a new world map system with random encounters, a player lock, five new music tracks and much more.

The magazine Computer Games Magazine in its review gave the game a brilliant rating ^[1] .

Mysteries of Westgate

Mysteries of Westgate - an addon (adventure pack) for Neverwinter Nights 2 . The gameplay is non-linear and is designed for 15 hours of play. The addon brings to the game new monsters, music and other elements that can be used by players to create their own levels. The action takes place in the fantasy world of Forgotten Realms .

The game received positive reviews from PC Gamer Magazine and Games for Windows: The Official Magazine ^{[2] [3]} .

The Shadow Sun

The Shadow Sun is a role-playing game for iPhone and iPod touch , which is under development, the action of which takes place in the universe of the same name. Unlike previous studio work, the game has nothing to do with either the D&D role system or the Forgotten Realms world. The game is scheduled for fall 2011 ^[4] .
