Biography

She was born on November 19 ( December 1 ), 1898 in Moscow (the validity of the date of birth has not been clarified: there were rumors in the theater that Vera Konstantinovna had changed the year of her birth in the passport from 1893 to 1898). In 1917 she entered the studio of E. B. Vakhtangov . In 1926, the studio became the Vakhtangov Theater , where she worked with her husband, actor L. M. Shikhmatov . She played in the theater, three performances with her participation were filmed:

  • “For every wise man of rather simplicity” (1971) - the first engraftment
  • “On the Golden Bottom” (1977) - Mosevna
  • "Idiot" (1979) - an old lady .

Leonid Shikhmatov and Vera Lvova belonged to the old Vakhtangov cohort, held together by a single large creative family, always helping each other out. They lived in a house specially built in 1928 for workers of the Vakhtangov Theater in Bolshoi Levshinsky Lane , and everyone in the house was co-workers.

According to the recollections of their housemate A.V. Mass , when the theater actress V.G. Vagrina returned from exile (she was arrested as the wife of the "enemy of the people" of the head of the V / O "Glavkhimplastmass" People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry of the USSR D. M Kolmanovsky - shot in 1937, rehabilitated posthumously in 1989), left without housing and a Moscow residence permit, the theater administration immediately found an opportunity to contact the authorities and return her residence permit, and Shikhmatov and Lvov offered housing, providing a room in their apartment [1 ] .
