Kostin Shar , a strait in the Barents Sea of the Arctic Ocean , separates Mezhdasharsky Island from the Gusinaya Zemlya Peninsula and the Southern Copper Island of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago.

The length is about 100 km. Width from 3.5 to 16 km. Depth up to 48 m. The coast is high, partially steep [1] .
Cape Southern Goose Nose, Lillie, Shoe nose, Black ( South Island ), Shadrovsky, Klyuv, Krestovy, Kostin Nos (Mezhsharsky Island) stand out on the coast. The coast of the strait on the South Island is cut up by a large number of gulf bays: Belushya , Rogacheva , Taynaya, Missing , Nerpa and Bashmachnaya . There are a large number of islands in the strait, the largest of which are: Krugly , Timofeeva , Sobachy and Yartseva [2] .
On the northwest side of the strait is the village of Belushya Guba . The strait is located in the water area of the Arkhangelsk region .
