Susak ( Croatian. Susak , Italian. Sansego ) is a small sandy island in Kvarner Bay . It is located in the north of the Adriatic coast of Croatia . The name Sansego comes from the Greek word Sansegus , meaning oregano , which is grown in abundance on the island.

The island is becoming increasingly popular for leisure travelers, especially during the summer months . The population is 188 people ( 2001 ). Many people from Susak live in the USA now .
