Shijingshan is located in the southwestern part of the Beijing metropolis. The area covers the hills surrounding the ancient Yunji Temple.
Shijingshan has an area of 86 km², making it the smallest area in Beijing.
Content
History
In 1948, the 27th district of Beiping was formed on this territory (the first time that this territory became a single administrative unit). In 1949, the 27th district was renamed the 19th, and in 1950 the 19th district was renamed the 15th. In September 1952, the city government again changed the administrative division of the city, and the 15th district was renamed the Shijingshan District.
