Flag of Naberezhnye Chelny

“The flag of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny is a rectangular blue cloth with a ratio of width to length of 2: 3, with the reproduction of the shuttle under sail and with oars from the coat of arms of the city (in yellow, red and green colors with orange contours) and with a wavy white stripe along the lower edge , with an overall width of 1/4 of the width of the panel; the shuttle is adjacent to the strip, the oars enter the strip. ”

The main figure of the flag - the shuttle indicates the name of the city, making the composition a vowel. Choln is a symbol of tireless forward movement, overcoming obstacles, taming the elements and means of achieving the goal. The nasal decoration in the form of a girl’s head shows the image of a woman as a symbol of the hearth.

A full sail speaks of a fair wind, of luck and success in all endeavors. The sail of Chelny in its outlines resembles a stylized image of a tulip - a traditional symbol of spirituality, emphasizes and enhances the significance of the city, showing Naberezhnye Chelny as a unique pearl of Tatarstan.

The oars lowered into the water indicate that the inhabitants of Naberezhnye Chelny use not only natural forces to move forward, but also apply their efforts.

White waves symbolize the Kama River and Nizhnekamsk reservoir , on the banks of which the city is located. The white color of the waves echoes one of the versions of the name of the city - in the Tatar language “Yar Chally” - a white stone on the shore.

Yellow color (gold) symbolizes strength, greatness, wealth, intelligence, stability, respect.

White color (silver) is a symbol of purity, perfection, spirituality, mutual understanding.

Blue color is a symbol of truth, honor and virtue.
