Biography
Farajulla Bek Aga Irza Bek oglu was born on December 4, 1814 in Shusha into a noble family. May 1, 1834 began his service in the Transcaucasian equestrian Muslim regiment , in Warsaw . July 27, 1838 "for distinction in service" promoted to ensign [1] .
In the spring of 1840, Farajullah Bek Aga Irza Bek oglu's cornet , as part of the newly formed Life Guard Team of Muslims of His Imperial Majesty's Own Convoy, was sent to St. Petersburg . On April 27, 1844, Staff Captain Faraj Bek Agayev converted to Orthodoxy . The receivers were Emperor Nicholas I and Tsesarevna Maria Alexandrovna . At baptism, he received the name Nikolai Nikolaevich [2] . Moved to the Life Guard Cossack Regiment . In 1847, captain Agaev, the commander of the life squadron L-Guards. Cossack Regiment [3] . December 6, 1849 was promoted to colonel .
In 1850, Agaev was sent to the Separate Caucasian Corps . In 1853 , at the beginning of the Crimean War , Colonel Agayev formed an irregular horse regiment from the Azerbaijanis of Karabakh residents. In 1854, the Ossetian police regiment joined the Agaev’s regiment. For contrast in the Eastern (Crimean) war, Colonel Nikolai Agaev was awarded a golden checker with the inscription "For Courage" on November 5, 1856 [4] .
June 25, 1862 he was promoted to major general [5] . In 1864, Shah of Persia was awarded the Order of Leo and the Sun of the 2nd degree with a star. In 1872, he was granted the Order of Medzhidiye of the 1st degree by the Turkish Sultan . In addition, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree (1859), the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree (1866), the Order of St. Anna of the 1st degree with swords (1868).
On November 29, 1882, Major General N. Agaev , who was in the army cavalry under the troops of the Caucasus Military District , was promoted to lieutenant general "with dismissal from service with a uniform and pensioner." Until the end of his life, he was in the Tiflis Muslim Charitable Society. He died on November 26, 1891.
