History
The Anguilla team is one of the weakest teams in the world. The team of a small island has never been selected for any of the international tournaments - the World Cup , the Golden Cup , the Caribbean Islands Cup . The team spends many home matches on neutral fields or on the territory of the opponent. Thus , Anguilla held the home match of the qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup against the national team of El Salvador in Washington , and in the qualifying tournament for the world championship 2014 both matches against the national team of the Dominican Republic were held in San Cristobal . This is due to the lack of suitable stadiums on the island and the high level of corruption in the national football association, because of which financial assistance from FIFA is spent for other purposes [2] .
