John Charles Thring ( eng. John Charles Thring ; June 11, 1824 - October 3, 1909 ) - a University of Cambridge footballer who previously played for the Shrewsbury School team ( English Shrewsbury School ), the author of the first published Rules of the Game of Football [1]

Biography
In 1846, Thring, together with Henry de Winton ( 1823 - 1895 ), organized a meeting with representatives of private schools in order to formulate and adopt the first set of uniform rules for the game of football, which later became known as the " Cambridge Rules ".
In 1862, he first published the rules of the game of football, which he called "The simplest game" [2]
