Biography

Marina Schuko was born on October 11 (24), 1915 in Petrograd in the family of the architect V. A. Schuko [1] . She played the first role in the apartment of A.N. Tolstoy in the home performance "Barmaley", in which K.I. Chukovsky was an adult partner of the kids. Several times, the little actress was invited to children's roles in the LATD named after A.S. Pushkin .

In 1932, Marina Shchuko entered the theater school at the Leningrad Bolshoi Drama Theater . After graduating from 1936 to 1939, she worked in the Murmansk branch of the Bolshoi Drama Theater . Then at the Leningrad Theater of Variety and Miniatures (1939 - 1940).

The Great Patriotic War found the actress in Vyborg , where she played in the local theater (1940 - 1941). As part of the concert brigade went to the army. Soon, the Vyborg Theater was evacuated to the Urals, but Shuko, due to his son's illness, remained in Leningrad , from where at the end of 1941 she was sent to the troupe of the city drama theater of the city of Kizel , and in 1944 - to the regional drama theater of the city of Molotov (now Perm ). And again, Marina Schuko with a concert team went to the front. With parts of the 1st Ukrainian Front , Poland and part of Germany passed.

After the war, the actress worked in the regional drama theaters of Smolensk (1945 - 1948), Omsk (1948 - 1953), Penza (1953 - 1954).

From 1954 to 1979, the actress performed on the stage of the Vologda ODT .

From 1970 to 1978, Marina Schuko headed the Vologda branch of the WTO , was a member of the presidium of the regional Peace Defense Committee , and was repeatedly elected as a deputy of the regional and city Soviets of People’s Deputies.

She died on September 30, 1979 in Vologda .

Memory

 

On the International Theater Day , March 27, 1988, a memorial plaque was erected on the house on Sovetsky Prospekt 24, in which Marina Vladimirovna Shchuko had lived since moving to Vologda .

In 1995, the board of the Vologda branch of the STD decided to award the professional prize named after People's Artist of the RSFSR M.V. Schuko "Best Actress of the Year". Her presentation takes place annually on the International Theater Day .
