The territory of the Novotamansky rural settlement is an integral part of “Big Tamani”: its nature, history, culture. Coastal areas, indented by numerous convenient bays, bays, estuaries; favorable climate played a huge role in the development and development of these lands by man. The flag composition, consisting of wedges of green, blue, yellow (gold) and white (silver) allegorically reflects the peculiarities of the local nature: fertile green hillsides, golden sand of beaches and gold fields, bringing generous crops; the warm blue waters of estuaries and bays; clean, sea air.

The symbolism of the flag is ambiguous and, in addition to its natural features, figuratively reflects the periods of the historical path of the Novotamansky settlement. Here, scientists discovered the remains of primitive sites, traces of ancient, Khazar, ancient Russian settlements. Novotamansky lands in different eras were ruled by Polovtsy, Genoese, Turks. In 1792, the Cossacks permanently settled on the Taman peninsula to protect the Russian borders.

The white square crystal symbolizes salt. On the territory of the rural settlement, there is Lake Solyonoye , in which salt was mined until the middle of the 20th century. Now the lake is one of the attractions of the settlement. In summer, sometimes the lake dries up and becomes covered with a crust of white crystals of sodium chloride. At this time, the lake can go overland. Under a layer of salt lies a shallow, about half a meter, layer of therapeutic mud. This mud has been used successfully in the sanatoriums of Anapa and Gelendzhik and brings significant relief to people suffering from joint pain.
