On September 29, 2010, free source code is provided without technical support, a version for Linux without support for Python scripts. Versions for Windows and Mac OS X are paid, demos prohibit saving the project and limit the run time to 10 minutes.
The main developer of the project is Ion Vasilief, a freelance programmer . QtiPlot is licensed under the GNU GPL . Compiled binary assemblies are available for Microsoft Windows [2] [3] , some Linux distributions, and Mac OS X.
QtiPlot is similar in functionality to Origin and SigmaPlot [4] , and is used to replace them in institutes [5] . QtiPlot can be used to create 2D and 3D graphs and contains a large number of functions for data analysis, such as curve fitting, etc. When creating 3D graphs, rendering can be performed using OpenGL using the Qwt3D library. QtiPlot is successfully used for conducting research and preparing them for publication [6] .
