Among the inhabitants of the county there are native speakers of the Ainu language (Uigur dialect).
History
In ancient times, these places were part of the state of Shule (疏勒). According to Han Shu : 1510 families, 18 647 people, 2000 soldiers. The Chinese administration has 8 officials and 2 translators. Lots of markets.
When these lands were conquered by the Qing empire, then in 1762 the Lainin fortress (徕 宁 城) was built here, which was destroyed in 1826. In 1828, a new fortress was built on the site of the former Uyghur village, which housed troops and administrative bodies. The new fortress was called the "New City" or "Chinese City", and the old - the "Old City" or "Uyghur City"; the official name of the new fortress was Huiu (恢 武), the old one was called Tokchak (Toksak).
In 1884, the administrative unit “Kashgar Region” (喀什 噶尔 道) was formed, and it included the Directly Managed Region of Shule (疏勒 直隶 州). In 1902, the Directly Managed Region of Shule was elevated to the status of Shule Council (疏勒 府). After the Xinhai revolution in China, a reform of the administrative structure was carried out, during which the councils were abolished, and in 1913 the Shule County Government was transformed into Shule County.
