- Margarita - Duchess of Lorraine, in 1255 she married Frederick III, Duke of Lorraine ( 1238 - 1303 )

Theobald I died in 1253 and Margarita became regent with Jaime I of Aragon with her eldest son Theobald II of Navarre before he came of age in 1256 . The kings of Castile have long wanted to become rulers of the kingdom of Navarre in the Pyrenees, and since 1250 Ferdinand III of Castile and his heir, Alfonso X of Castile , planned to marry Eleanor of Castile to Theobald II of Navarre. Fearing increased Castilian influence, Margarita entered into an alliance with Jaime I of Aragon in 1252, solemnly promising that theobald would never marry Eleanor of Castile.
As a result, Margarita married Theobald II to Isabella, daughter of the King of France Louis IX and Margarita of Provence. Eleanor of Castile later married King of England Edward I and was the mother of sixteen children. Margarita died in Brie on April 12, 1256 at the age of 45.
